Children's Art Classes
A Bit of History
For decades the Lahaina Arts Society provided free, on-site art classes and activities to children living in Maui County. Classes began at the Banyan Tree Gallery and the Old Jail Gallery in the historic Old Lahaina Courthouse in the 1970s, and the Lahaina Arts Guild continues this tradition with local artists as teachers and mentors for our Keiki.

Please Note: As new events and classes are announced, we will be inviting children to join our classes. As soon as it opens, we will be teaching at the YMCA Community Resource Center in Lahaina. At this time, however, due to the Lahaina fire disaster, we are not currently accepting individual registrations. Our focus is on rebuilding and running our school classes.

Hawaii Technology Academy
Keiki Art instruction is ongoing at Hawaii Technology Academy, Lahaina campus for grades 6,7 & 8, 12pm to 2:30pm weekly. Mahalo to art teacher Juliet DiGiovani, who is also leading Art Classes for Kupuna (Seniors) at Kaunoa Senior Center, Westside Lahaina, every two weeks 9am to 11:30am.
Hawaii Wildlife Discovery Center
It has been a very busy year so far, filled with Student Art Shows and creative classes. and we thank Stephanie Meyer for organizing and running the Art and Hula Club at the Hawaii Wildlife Discovery Center. It continues to be a wonderful success, and Mahalo to the Hawaii Wildlife Discovery Center for hosting Ka Pā Hula Le’a ‘O Lahaina this year
Maui YMCA
The Lahaina Arts Guild works with the YMCA on a flexible art class schedule according to needs and availability. We will be teaching at the YMCA Community Resource Center in Lahaina as soon as it opens.
Department of Education
When possible, our painting, drawing and a variety of other mediums are taught with the homeroom teacher present so the instruction can be folded into other classroom cultural and scientific projects.
